Here at Edinburg Animal Hospital we love ALL kinds of pets! Exotic pets, small mammals, birds and reptiles; all make wonderful companion animals and they need routine wellness care and annual examinations to stay healthy and active. We also know that finding a vet to treat exotic pets and birds can be challenging. Each special pet has their own unique requirements for wellness care and when they become ill. At Edinburg Animal Hospital Dr.Fanders has the advanced training and years of experience working with exotic pets to address a wide range of health and wellness issues.
We provide compassionate, high quality care to all our patients. Our veterinarians are committed to ongoing education so we remain up-to-date with the latest information on treating exotic pets. We offer wellness, geriatric, diagnostic, surgical and emergency care for exotic pets. Our hospital is equipped with in-house radiology and specialized caging and equipment for hospitalization and surgery. We use a combination of our in-house blood analyzers and an exotic exclusive laboratory to provide you with the most accurate tests results.
Many exotic pet owners only think about taking their pet to the veterinarian when it is sick. Unfortunately, these animals HIDE symptoms of their illness until they are so sick they are no longer able to act ‘normal’ anymore. This instinct, that would protect them in the wild, makes it harder for you to recognize when your pet is not feeling well. If your pet is showing signs of illness, chances are it is VERY sick. At Edinburg Animal Hospital we understand and are prepared to deal with these kinds of delicate emergency situations.
We encourage you to bring your pet in for a well visit at least once a year. We stress preventative medicine, including proper diet and husbandry. The doctors and staff here want to ensure that your pet lives the longest, healthiest life it possibly can!
